Dream Into Dust

No Man's Land MCD

1997 Chtonic Streams

Review by Miika Kuusinen

From the ashes of December rises Dream Into Dust whose debut MCD "No Man's Land" offers an auditory exhibtion of the hopeless desolate void. Dream Into Dust combines Nine Inch Nails type of "industrial" with minimalistic, cold and schizophrenic ambient noise creating an unique angstful and frightening feeling.

There are also some hidden melancholy melodies mixed with 80's avantgarde pop/goth music. For some reason the vocals remind slightly of David Bowie and every now and then names like Brighter Death Now and Blood Axis pop into my mind. "No Man's Land" manages to create a feeling that you are totally alone in a world created inside your head. If insanity could be transcribed to music, it might sound something like Dream into Dust. For a certain state of mind "No Man's Land" is excellent music to listen to but at times it might sound just annoying.
