This music is probably best described as Blackish sounding Metal with Folk influences. It's not completely raw, violent or chaotic, but it's not a sugar-coated wimpy excuse for Black Metal that your granny would happily whistle along to either. The album has a good clear production, and there is lots of melody, but it's still quite heavy, midtempo material. Each track is quite different too, but while they aren't totally original (who is?), at the same time Twin Obcenity have their own sound. Most of these songs make good use of typical Folk-inspired melodies, but there are a few surprises to be found such as the strange guitar harmonies reminiscent of Disincarnate interspersed through 'Tribute For Mortality' and later on a guitar solo in the vein of Deicide.

Both deep and higher 'screamy' vocals are used here, and in a few songs there's also some female singing, which is very effective indeed. Keyboards are also used throughout the album, but the guitars are the primary instrument. The album has been mixed well too - nothing is too loud or too quiet. I should imagine this album will appeal to a lot of people, and I believe the band have since signed to Century Media, which comes as no surprise.

My favourite songs here are 'Enchanted By The Empress Beauty,' 'The Infernal Dance Of Prince Kaleth,' 'Dreams Of A Holocaust Night' and the title track. A great debut from this promising Norwegian band - I just hope that their second album will maintain this standard and that they won't go all peculiar and release a disappointing follow-up, which many bands seem to be doing nowadays like Arcturus, Limbonic Art, Sirrah, Mork Gryning.)
