Corruption

Crushed

(c)(p)1997 Corruption

Review by Neil St.Laurent

Thanks to the band for the CD

For some odd reason the cover of this CD reminds me somewhat of Pro-Pain (possibly becuase it has the same subdoed simplicity of Pro-Pain's newest live release). Of course, any potential similarity to that other band ends there, instead Corruption bears more in common with earlier Pantera, as on "Vulgar Display Of Power"; indeed Grabowski on vocals manages to sound similar to Anselmo at times. The band is self-described as a brutal-edged modern metal band and better described as a modern power metal band. Even as a 3-piece they do [whatever genre name you choose] justice. The music has a very hard edge to it, complete with chrunchy guitars and strong bass. Although the mixing (expecially the drums) on this album could be better, it is after all only a demo, and Corruption is definitely quality heavy music.

Although only a 3-song demo, everybody can use this little bit of Corruption in their lives.

Corruption is:
Marc Grabowski - Vocals / Bass
Mark Obermeyer - Guitars
Nick Studen - Drums
