(William Degrave de Duncques, 1867-1935)
The reason for the night is for those like me,
the sun seers our skin, but the moon heals,
if you can see in the dark,
you will notice the absence of others,
yet you will not feel alone,
but the shade of the dark,
and the ambient glow of lamps,
illuminates a direction for you,
it shall cross with others,
and you have to decide,
so that it is that you know,
the night is dark but not an end,
a different view of what you perceive,
so leave us to be in the park,
where less things are bright,
yet our future is clear.
