Black Rain

--Ed Stal

Our oceans once glimmered in the evening,
all the birds once sang a beautiful aria,
and the sky was clear for a gaze at heaven...

the animals before approached me and spoke their name,
they would share stories that we cannot see,
and all the worlds children would play together...

green grass rolled across endless plains,
groves of trees stood strong and free,
all living testaments to the harmony of our earth...

we danced under the bright moon light,
we sang alongside the birds in joy,
we were one with the multitude...

and the black rain fell!

washing away all the vibrant colours,
lining the trees with thick residue,
drowning the fish in the sea...

and gray clouds were upon us!

obscuring the rays of sunshine,
withholding the light of life,
choking our brethren to death...

and the dark lighting struck!

killing all of earth's beauty,
erasing what little joy was left,
scarring our reality forever...

and the beast stood up!

fucking the world and its children,
raping the joy of existence,
bastardizing his only son.

suffice to say, some day,
humanity will crumble,
too much done to forgive
too little left to forget,
stop thinking about living,
and prepare for our death.
