Dance With Me

Ed Stal

I stalk them in the falling of the light,
Their silhouettes dance for me,
The crisp air keeps them alive this final night,
For by morning,
Of this autumn eve,
No birds shall sing,
Their life I relieve.

I can hear her gasp as I reach for her,
Hand extended and knife in hand,
Dance to me and carved flesh draws near,
For this evil blade,
Will cut your skin,
And when they come,
I will but win.

I slash at the back of a little child,
His screams go unanswered by the breeze,
What I did to his parents was but mild,
Compared to this,
I rip from flesh,
A beating heart,
And veinlike mesh.

I kill them all for the years to come,
No law nor man will prevent my enslaught,
Don't worry I spare all but some,
Cravings for blood,
Life will run,
Forever in dark,
Until I'm done.
